Target Adventures

If you ever wanted to climb a mountain, compete in a triathlon, or volunteer to help build trail now is your chance. Challenge yourself to some great outdoor activities to get you moving and having fun with Soles In The Backcountry. 

We came up with a list of 20 Target Adventures for you to complete throughout the summer. Bring along a friend, your furry companion, or your whole family as you complete these awesome adventures.

Target Adventures

  1. Hike The Butte

  2. Hike Lazy Mountain trail system

  3. Bike the Butte Bike Path from downtown Palmer

  4. Hike to April Bowl /Hatch Peak

  5. Join an active club or trail building committee

  6. Compete in a  Mat-Su valley based running, biking or triathlon event

  7. Hike to Gold Cord Lake (Independence Mine/Hatcher Pass area)

  8. Hike a mile or more in the Matanuska Greenbelt/Crevasse Moraine trail system (Matanuska Lake Recreation Area)

  9. Hike or bike Eklutna Lake Trail

  10. Hike or bike Government Peak Recreation Area

  11. Volunteer in the outdoors or at a local race/event

  12. Go on a overnight backcountry/camping trip

  13. Hike to Reed Lakes in Hatcher Pass

  14. Play a round of golf and walk the course

  15. Go to a fitness class (example; yoga,spin,crossfit,zumba)

  16. Climb at the rock gym (Wasilla or Anchorage)

  17. Boat on any area lake (must be non-motorized)

  18. Play a game of disc golf or ultimate frisbee

  19. Bring a kid or friend along on any challenge

  20. Run or walk the Palmer-Moose Creek Railroad Trail
