What is SITBC?
Soles In The Backcountry started 5 years ago after traveling outside of the U.S and participating in a similar series. We knew that this would make a positive impact in our community, and we are always wanting to encourage more people to get out and see the beauty Alaska has to offer. This challenge promotes and challenges individuals, friends and family to get outdoors and participate in healthy leisure activities. There are three challenges included in SITBC Adventure Book (Target Adventures, Hiking Series and The 6 Peak Challenge) . You can choose to do any or all of them. Each challenge varies in degree of difficulty so choose the one(s) that suit(s) you best!

RELEASE OF LIABILITY
In consideration for being provided this informational adventure book, I release from liability and waive my right to sue Active Soles Performance Footwear, its affiliates, program sponsors, subsidiaries, parent companies, employees, officers, volunteers and agents (collectively hereinafter "Active Soles") from any and all claims, including claims of Active Soles' negligence, resulting in any physical injury, illness (including death), injury to personal property, or economic loss I may suffer or which may result from my use or participation in any activity, challenge or trail described in this book (hereafter "Activity"), travel to and from the Activity, or any events incidental to the Activity.
EXPRESS ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I am voluntarily participating in the activities described in this book. I understand that there are risks associated with my participation in the Activity, such as physical and/or psychological injury, pain, suffering, illness, disfigurement, temporary or permanent disability, death, injury to property or economic loss. These injuries or outcomes may arise from my own or other's actions, inactions, or negligence, or the condition of the Activity location(s) or trails. Nonetheless, I assume all risks of my participation in this Activity, whether known or unknown to me, including travel to and from the Activity or any events incidental to this Activity.
No trail guide can be completely accurate, so participants must use caution and discretion in assessing the dangers posed by each Activity they choose to undertake. You are expressly assuming the risk and sole responsibility for your safety and the safety of those participating with you. Educate yourself and become familiar with general wilderness safety and first aid before entering Alaska's back-country. Protection from wild animals is highly recommended for each Activity. Before embarking on any Activity, it is recommended that you leave a full itinerary with a responsible party; pack gear for all conditions; and enough food, water, and supplies for your Activity, including any unplanned contingencies. Any water consumed on or around the mountain trails should be treated. Access to water is very limited and may not be available once on the trail systems. Consult a physician before beginning any Activity or if you have any questions regarding your health and ability to participate.
I agree to hold the Active Soles harmless from any and all claims, loss or damage to my personal property, liabilities and costs, including attorney's fees, as a result of my participation in this Activity, including travel to and from the Activity or any events incidental to this Activity.
